Residential garbage is collected 1 day per week on your scheduled pick up day.
City residents are limited to eight forty-five gallon cans or forty-five gallon bags OR no more than two ninety-six gallon rollout trash cans weighing no more than fifty pounds per container, excluding yard waste.
Brush and tree limbs must be bundled and tied in lengths no longer than 3-4 feet.
All items must be set out by 7:30 a.m. on the day of collection.
All garbage must be placed within 5 feet of curb or alley and can not be blocked.
Lancaster Sanitation will no longer pick up furniture and similar large items at the curb. Any resident or business within Lancaster City limits may call the Sanitation Department to make an appointment for bulk pick-up of items not picked up with normal waste for an additional fee.
Special and hazardous wastes including, but not limited to tires, appliances, car batteries, liquids, concrete, metal pipes, building materials, rocks, and dirt will NOT be collected.
If animals or weather scatter trash from your trash cans, you are responsible for cleaning the area.
