No Spring Clean Up

  In an effort to reduce costs, the City of Lancaster will not be conducting the annual Spring Clean Up. Instead, residents are asked to place acceptable items out with their regular trash throughout the year. If you have items that need picked up and are unsure if they are acceptable, please contact the Sanitation Department at (740) 687-6660, or go to our web site, http://www.ci.lancaster.oh.us/dept/sanitation.

  Further cost reduction efforts are to change the hours of operation of the Transfer Station at 743 South Ewing Street. Effective March 15, 2004, the Transfer Station will be open from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. The Transfer Station will no longer be open on Saturday.

  These two changes will save the City of Lancaster, Sanitation Department over $40,000 per year. The elimination of Spring clean up will also reduce costs for other City Departments who have traditionally provided labor and equipment for the clean up.
