Fair and Sixth Avenues Project

Update - On Friday, June 12th, the Lancaster Department of Transportation will be starting a micro surfacing project on Fair and Sixth Avenues from Memorial Drive to Sheridan Drive and Cherry St.  The maintenance project is a two-part process consisting of an inner layer application and an asphalt overlay.  During the inner layer process, there will be periods of parking restrictions and street closures to allow for the application as well as sweeping.  After the inner layer sets up, which will take 3-4 days weather permitting, the asphalt overlay will be applied.  Again, there will be periods of street closures and parking restrictions.  We request that residents and businesses make alternate arrangements for access and parking during periods of restrictions to help facilitate the process and minimize any inconvenience.  Again, the project is scheduled to begin on Friday, June 12th, and weather permitting should be complete Friday, June 19th.  Thank you for your cooperation during this project.

The Lancaster Department of Transportation is currently performing work on Fair and Sixth Avenues. This work is to prepare for a maintenance overlay project that is scheduled to begin on June 15. This project will be a two part process. The first stage is the application of a flexible inner layer that resembles a tar and chip application followed up with an asphalt overlay. This will be a curb to curb application. Within the project scope, there will be intermittent closures of Fair and Sixth Avenues that will occur a block at a time. Access to properties will be maintained as much as possible; however, there will be times during application accessibility will be denied. The scheduled timeframe of the project is two (2)weeks weather permitting.
