Mission Statement


The mission of the City of Lancaster - Community Development Department is to:
  • Design, implement and administer the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and related programs in response to community needs.
  • Expand affordable housing through planning, coordinating and monitoring of housing programs on an interagency basis.
  • Insure housing accessibility for all through the promotion of Fair Housing standards.
  • Promote Economic Development.
  • Seek funding from federal, state and private sources to implement programs within the City of Lancaster, in the interest of creating a better community.

CARES Act Relief Funds: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) - CV



The City of Lancaster has received an allocation of funding from the CARES Act through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) - CV program.  These funds will be administered by the Community Development Department.  The City proposes to use these funds for the following activities: 

Economic Development - Working capital grants to small businesses
