Mission Statement

The mission of the City of Lancaster - Community Development Department is to:
  • Design, implement and administer the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and related programs in response to community needs.
  • Expand affordable housing through planning, coordinating and monitoring of housing programs on an interagency basis.
  • Insure housing accessibility for all through the promotion of Fair Housing standards.
  • Promote Economic Development.
  • Seek funding from federal, state and private sources to implement programs within the City of Lancaster, in the interest of creating a better community.

The public is invited to read the draft FY2020 Annual Action Plan for the City of Lancaster and to provide comments between 8/26/20 and 8/31/20.  The draft of the Plan can be found at the link above or here, in hard copy at the Community Development Department (105 E. Main Street 2nd Floor), or by sending an email to and a copy of the plan will be emailed to you.
