Yard Waste Guidelines

  • Yard waste is collected March 1 thru December 1 on the same day as your trash pick-up day.

    • After December 1st residents may bring yard waste to the city Transfer Station for disposal at no charge. *Residents must present city utility bill and driver's license to show proof of residency at the Sanitation Department office.

  • ALL yard waste must be set out to the STREET by 7:30am on your scheduled pick-up day. Even if your trash pick-up location is in the alley, yard waste must be set out to the street.

  • Yard waste must be tied in bundles not exceeding four feet in length and two feet in diameter or weigh no more than fifty pounds each; or

  • Yard waste must be placed in bio-degradable paper bags weighing no more than fifty pounds each when loaded with yard waste.

  • Co-mingling of yard waste within the same container as acceptable waste is PROHIBITED.

  • Residents may opt to use a designated trash can for yard waste instead of bio-degradable paper bags by painting a green ring around the middle of the trash can (see example below).
