The City of Lancaster is proposing to replace the existing Sanitation Transfer Station constructed in 1973 with a new facility located at the same address. The new facility will be capable of accepting up to 100 tons a day of waste material for processing to the landfill. A Permit to Install has been submitted to the Ohio Environmental Agency for approval.
A public hearing will be held on Monday February 13, 2023 at 6:30 pm at Lancaster City Council Chambers 111 S. Broad St, Lancaster Ohio. The hearing will be televised as part of the regular meeting.
A copy of the PTI application is available for viewing at the City Engineer's Office, 121 E. Chestnut St, Suite 100, Lancaster Ohio.
The estimated cost of the project is $2.5 million to be finances by a short term debt and the project is expected to be bid in late winter with construction to be completed by the end of 2023.
