Bar Admissions: The Supreme Court of Ohio

Key Areas of Responsibility:As Assistant City Prosecutor, Daniel Cogley handles all criminal misdemeanor cases that fall within the Fairfield County Jurisdiction. In completing his duties, he litigates motion to suppress hearings, conducts victim interviews, and is first chair in both bench and jury trials. Additionally, he reviews intake forms for possible criminal charges.

Professional Affiliations, Daniel is a member of the Ohio State and Columbus County Bar Associations
Education, Daniel is a 2011 graduate of William & Mary School of Law located in Williamsburg, Virginia. While attending law school, he was a member of the William & Mary Business Law Review and third-year class representative to the Student Bar Association. In 2008, Daniel graduated from Hamdpen-Sydney College, also located in Central Virginia, with a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Rhetoric.

Experience:
Daniel was a contract attorney with the City Prosecutor’s office before being promoted to full-time Assistant City Prosecutor. During his stint as a contract attorney, he argued in front of the Fifth District Court of Appeals. Prior to joining the Prosecutor’s Office full-time, Daniel held various legal jobs. Lastly, Daniel held a summer clerkship with the Honorable Clayton Greene, Jr. of the Maryland Court of Appeals.
